Alumnus Credited with Saving Infant’s Life Aboard Flight

South University, West Palm Beach alumnus Joselito “Lito” Velasquez has been credited with saving an infant’s life when she experienced a medical emergency mid-flight.

Velasquez is a 2016 graduate of the Master of Science in Nursing with a Specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner program at South University, West Palm Beach. The incident happened in July when he was aboard a cross-country flight on a family vacation. When the airliner’s crew asked for medical assistance from passengers, Velasquez sprang into action and was able to treat the infant until the plane landed.
