Shannon Herrin, PT, DPT appointed as the Assistant Dean for College of Health Professions

South University is pleased to announce the appointment of Shannon Herrin, PT, DPT, as the Assistant Dean for the College of Health Professions. Dr. Herrin has served in numerous roles at South University since joining the university in 2012, from Assistant Professor to Program Director to Co-Chair of the Physical Therapist Assistant programs. Dr. Herrin received a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences and a Master of Physical Therapy at the University of Texas in San Antonio Health Science Center, a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Boston University, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Leadership in Higher Education at Hardin-Simmons University. In addition to her role at South, she has practiced physical therapy for twenty years and has been recognized for her clinical and academic contributions in her community of Austin, Texas. Dr. Herrin is a member of the Texas Alliance of Physical Therapist Assistant Educators, the American Physical Therapy Association and the Texas Physical Therapy Association. We are excited about Dr. Herrin’s new role at South University and the future of the College of Health Professions.
