Nursing Alumna Spearheads Diabetes Initiatives for Veterans

South University, Columbia alumna LaCresha Mitchum was recently profiled for her work as a warrior against diabetes.

Mitchum serves as a registered nurse/certified diabetes educator/diabetic coordinator at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, S.C. Her efforts to educate veterans on both prevention and management of the condition were highlighted in a S.C. newspaper. To read the profile, please visit:

Mitchum earned her Masters of Science in Nursing Education in 2010 from South University, and also served as a clinical coordinator at the Columbia campus.
