South University would like to celebrate Cheryl Morene, Senior Financial Analyst in the Accounting Office, for completing her 40th year with the university! Cheryl’s tenure with the university dates back beyond its inception, when the institution was still Draughon’s Practical Business College and she has stayed on as it shifted into the university we all know today! Cheryl has served in many roles since starting her career with South, from File Clerk to Computer Operator to Library Assistant to Assistant Registrar to Assistant Business Manager to Student Accounting. The first time Cheryl had the opportunity to fly on an airplane was courtesy of South, when she had to visit Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to assist with an update of the first computer system the school purchased. “What else can I say? It has been a great career with ups and downs, but what can you expect during 40 years!” says Cheryl, as she reflects on her career.
