2140

South University, Columbia Doctor of Pharmacy students Kevin Joly-Brown, Chelcy Sally, and La Trisa Jordan had the opportunity to attend the 2018 South Carolina Governor’s Opioid Summit Conference as part of their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience. During the conference, Governor Henry McMaster, physicians, pharmacists, coroners, law enforcement officers, and other health care professionals shared insight on the current opioid crisis in our state, and addressed ways that everyone can collaborate to combat this issue.

Sessions included discussions on the current ways South Carolina Government has involved itself in the fight to combat opioid abuse, highlighting the steps that the profession of pharmacy has taken to combat the opioid epidemic and a coroner’s perspective of the crisis.
