Dr. Westfall appointed as Interim Dean of the School of Pharmacy

South University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. David Westfall, as Interim Dean of the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Westfall is a highly regarded scholar, researcher and academic leader with over 40 years of experience. Dr. Westfall earned a doctorate in Pharmacology, and served in a variety of leadership positions from provost to researcher at the university-level. Dr. Westfall served as the first chair of the Department of Pharmacology for 15 years at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, building the department staff and faculty from a team of 4 to 50 members and establishing $2.5 million in grant funding, as well as developing the first doctoral program. Throughout his career in higher education, Dr. Westfall maintained his laboratory and had a fulfilling career as a research scientist, earning several accolades including the Distinguished Alumnus Award for the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1999, the Starr Fellowship at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University in 2004 and the University of Nevada Distinguished Faculty Award in 2007. Dr. Westfall brings excellent credentials and experience to the School of Pharmacy.
