Dr. Jessica Masoner appointed to Assistant Dean, College of Arts and Sciences-Online

South University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jessica Masoner to Assistant Dean for online programs in the College of Arts and Sciences at South University.  Dr. Masoner joined South University in January 2005 and has served in numerous leadership positions spending most of her time dedicated to students, faculty, and curriculum in General Education. Presently, she continues to teach online courses in Speech, Interpersonal Communication and Strategies for Success.  Prior to joining South University, she taught communication at several institutions.  Her passion lies in getting students to see their potential and to create an educational environment where each student feels supported in their path to achieve their goals.  Dr. Masoner was a co-presenter for Teaching Academic Survival and Success, “Mindset: A Powerful Key to Perception, Performance, and Persistence in the Online Classroom.” In 2010 she received the South University Outstanding Achievement Award, and in 2006 earned the Socrates Excellence Award.  Dr. Masoner holds a B.A. in Biological Sciences and Communication from Juniata College, an M.A. in Communication Studies from West Virginia University and an Ed.D.in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.  We are excited about her new role at South University and the future of the College of Arts and Sciences.
