“It really means a lot to me to see so many people turn out for this walk,” said Gabriella Fischer, Dean of Students for the School of Pharmacy. “I lost my aunt to cancer last year and seeing so many other people who have lost loved ones reminds me of how critical it is for us to continue to raise awareness, and thereby raise support, to fight cancer on all fronts.” |

SU Savannah (Fall 2009) - South University students and faculty joined thousands in Forsyth Park for the Light the Night Walk in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The School of Pharmacy students led the initiative and raised over $2,400 to fight cancer. Walkers brought family members and family pets with them to carry lit balloons over the 2 mile course through Savannah’s historic downtown.
