Nursing Instructor publishes article in Orthopaedic Nursing

SU Columbia (Fall 2009) – Nursing Instructor Dottie Roberts, MSN, MACI, RN, CMSRN, OCNS-CR, has written an article that has been accepted for publication in Orthopaedic Nursing, the official journal of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses. The article titled “Violation of a Moral Rule: Care of the Patient Following Hip Fracture” will be published in early 2010.

Instructor Roberts, who is certified as an orthopaedic clinical nurse specialist, is a frequent author and national speaker on orthopaedic nursing topics.

She also recently served as an invited judge for the annual Spirit of Caring Awards offered by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. This awards program recognizes long-term care facilities with creative programs that enrich the lives of their residents. After reviewing more than 25 entries, Instructor Roberts noted, “These facilities have the most inspirational staffs. I was honored to review the descriptions of their caring efforts and have the opportunity to recognize those efforts.”
